Grand Rapids is the western end of our Range routes and a center in its own right: the paper mill and its log and chip traffic, the power plant at Cohasset and the contractors around it, Highway 2 trucking between Duluth and Bemidji, and the county, city and utility fleets based in town. Our routes come through weekly, and a Grand Rapids yard goes on the same cycle as any in Duluth.
Log trucks, chip vans and mill traffic
Log trucks run the worst of both worlds: landing mud in the fall and spring, brine all winter. Hot water and pressure move the packed material off the bunks, frames and headache racks; the two-step takes the brine off the cab. Weekly through the hauling season is what most of our log fleets run.
Contractors at the plant and the mill
Plant and mill contractors often need a wash before equipment goes through a gate, before a service and before it leaves site. We work with the site's access rules and wash on a pad or gravel away from drains. Heavy equipment washing.
Itasca County towns on the route
Grand Rapids, Cohasset, Coleraine, Bovey, Nashwauk, Keewatin, Deer River and the townships along Highways 2, 169 and 38.
What day do you come through Grand Rapids?
The Grand Rapids route is weekly; the exact day depends on the yards already on it. We will tell you the day with the quote, and most yards keep the same day year-round.
