Tanker and bulk fleet washing

Fuel, propane, bulk and milk tankers: the units where a polished barrel is the brand and the chemistry has to be right.

Trailers lined up in a yard, washed on a scheduled route

A tanker is the most visible truck a fuel or propane company owns. It parks at every station, every farm and every bulk plant, and a polished barrel is what a customer notices. It is also the unit where the wrong chemistry does expensive damage: a strong acid on a mirror-polished aluminum barrel etches it in one pass. We wash tanker fleets with that in mind, and we ask about the finish before the first visit.

What we do for tanker fleets

  • Exterior wash of tractor and tank, with the chemistry set to the barrel finish: the standard two-step on mill-finish and painted barrels, aluminum-safe on polished ones.
  • Brightening on rims, cab tanks and mill-finish barrels, monthly or before a season. How brightening works.
  • Undercarriage on the tractor and the tank trailer's running gear through brine season.
  • Propane bobtails and delivery trucks on the same route as the transports.

Safety around a loaded tanker

Most tankers are washed empty or at least vented and sealed, in the yard, with the truck off. We do not wash at a loading rack. The crew keep the wand away from vents, valves and the hose reel, and we follow any site rule the plant has about working near product.

Milk and food-grade tankers

Exterior only. Interior CIP on food-grade tankers is done at the plant or the dairy, and we do not touch the manways or the fittings. The outside of a milk tanker, though, is often the most streaked unit in the fleet by spring, and brightening brings it back.

Is your wash safe for a polished tanker?

Yes, when we know it is polished. Tell us the finish and the polished units go on aluminum-safe chemistry for the whole wash. The standard two-step is for mill-finish and painted barrels only.

Our transports are home only on Sunday. Can you wash then?

Saturday night or Sunday, yes. Tell us the window and we will fit the route to it.

Tell us the unit count and the yard. We will quote per unit, by frequency.
